Leah Ellingson, Manager of Special Education Department
Helping every student in Lincoln Charter School achieve regardless of their disabilities is the goal of the Special Education Department. The school system in collaboration with the department continues to offer a large number of support services for students with special needs as agreed upon by the student’s IEP (Individualized Education Plan).
Services provided by the special education department include but are not conclusive:
Special education budgets/grants
Here at Lincoln Charter School, we provide special education services to eligible students in a continuum of educational settings. These programs are designed to meet the student’s individual needs based on their identified disability. This includes intellectually gifted students whose abilities require special education services to meet their needs. The IEP Team determines the level of services for each student. The Team strives to provide the least restrictive environment (LRE) for all students. Written permission is required for the evaluation and identification process. Students who qualify for special education services will have an Individual Education Plan. Parents and staff are involved in identifying students that require special education services. Parents will be offered a copy of the Procedural Safeguards Notice at each meeting. You can find the safeguards featured below.
