Your child has been working hard all year, learning and practicing important language arts, math skills and science skills that are part of Lincoln Charter School’s curriculum and are building blocks for future success. These skills will be assessed on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) during the statewide testing window from April 19th-May 13th. Students in grades 3rd-6th will be assessed in the mornings on the following days during this testing window:
April 19th- 22nd ELA Grades 3rd- 6th
May 2nd- 3rd Math Grades 3rd- 6th
May 9th- 10th Science Grade 4 Only
Below is a brief description of the PSSA from the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) website:
“The annual Pennsylvania System School Assessment is a standards-based, criterion-referenced assessment which provides students, parents, educators and citizens with an understanding of student and school performance related to the attainment of proficiency of the academic standards.”

We have adapted the testing schedule to ensure that our students have every opportunity to succeed. We are asking that all of our staff be available to assist with the administration of PSSA to our students. Unfortunately, that means, Kindergarten – 2nd Grades will be working virtually those days. This is to ensure that we have the appropriate staffing and the necessary teachers to administer the assessment to our students in an environment that will help them succeed.
The following are the dates that Kindergarten – 2nd grade will be working remotely. The students will have work pushed out to them each morning for them to complete. There will be open office hours for the Kindergarten – 2ndgrade teachers in the afternoon on those dates.
April 19th – April 22nd
**Kindergarten – 2nd grades will return to in-person learning on Monday, April 25th.
May 2nd – May 3rd
**Kindergarten – 2nd grades will return to in-person learning on Wednesday, May 4th.
